Every now and then I get asked where I draw my inspiration from. Blogwise, videowise, musicwise, artworkwise, lifewise…

I figured it would be nice to share another list of blogs which I’ve found highly inspirational over the last couple of months. (did a similar list in April, by the way)
This is not a best-of-blogs type of list, not a set of sites that are merely interesting, there’s more to it, all of these seem to be run passionately by the author(s). And that in itself is inspiring already.

So while I’ll be living the off-point life in February, I strongly recommend following these sites (and please drop a comment on how you liked them, or add any of your favourite sources for inspiration):
The World’s Best Ever

With sections like ‘Monday Stamina’, ‘Wednesday Muse’, ‘Kate Moss Thursdays’, ‘Lunchtime Laughter’ and a bunch of other sections this is one crazy blog. There’s a weekly ‘random youtube search of the week’ as well. Over all crazy stuff, but always in style. And a whole lot of news on art, photography, etc.

JazzNeversleeps’ Daily Dose of Design

My man Jazz Neversleeps is building his ineversleep.net imperium. The first section is launched, and it’s a blast. The Daily Design Dose is genius in it simplicity: one work of design art a day. No comments, no words, no nothing. Just a highly personal selection by mr. Neversleeps. And he sure knows his stuff, better take that for a fact.

Juxtapoz Magazine – Blog

What can I say… A reference in the contemporary (street) art fields for years now, it goes without any surprise that the Juxtapoz blog is just as strong as the print magazine. Subscribe to this one and prepare for a giant wave of art coming your way, every day.

It’s not about being Superman…

Reading the ‘introduction‘ section of Hannes’ site, I instantly knew he is one great mind. Speaking truths and asking the right questions. Mostly about all things communication, and inspiration in general. Also check out his blogging over at TheBigPicture (in Dutch).

Best Free Documentaries

No, this isn’t my main source for the weekly documentary posts on Sunday. But it was here that I discovered the amazing amount of full-length documentaries that are on the interwebs. There are other sites like this, but I keep on coming back to this one.

ISO50 – The Visual Work Of Scott Hansen

Scott Hansen started his site to promote his ISO50 portfolio – which I love. But the brilliant thing is, his blog features all things that inspire him, in the broadest sense. He called a friend in to assist him on the music blogging, which made the blog even better than it was.

The Brownswood Blog & Nutriot & OndaSonora & Shook.fm News

In no particular order this would have to be my personal top four of music blogs. I’d have to add Lefto as well, but he’s blogging over at the Brownswood blog. These blogs keep me posted on what’s happening in the house/funk/soul/jazz/afrobeat/disco genres.

TheExactly & CrateKings

An overload of videos and music news, in the so-called ‘urban’ genre. Often too much to follow. Then again, well worth digging in their archives to find your gems.
