In all honesty, I am far from a Nina Simone connoisseur, but I’ve always had a big appreciation for the legacy she’s left us with.

Touched by her straight-forward vision, allow me to pick just one quote, simply packed with truthfulness:

“…I would be able to say exactly what I mean, so that millions of people would be able to understand that what I’m about. In a few words.

I’m not able to do that now. But I want you to know, that that’s what I work on all the time.

…re-learn the power of words and how to put them together. I just think it’s important to tell you that.”
