Last week’s Dâm Funk video interview is still catching wind on the net, and here we are again with a brand new On-Point TV episode: Dorian Concept.
Dorian just released his debut album “When Planets Explode” on Amsterdam’s finest Kindred Spirits imprint. And I must say, that’s exactly the sound you’ll get, the album is a solid thread, but surely not for the weakhearted (think Squarepusher, for instance).
Last summer I had the chance to sit down with Dorian and talk about his beloved Micro Korg and his youtube videos which put him on the map in 2007-2008, with BBC’s Benji B playing his “The Fucking Formula” almost every week in his radio show.
Make sure to download the free remixes ep over at Kindred Spirits as well, and tell me his remix of Phat Kat & Guilty Simpson’s Nightmare isn’t pure fire right there!
More Dorian Concept videos after the jump.

DORIAN CONCEPT!!!
This stuff is brilliant!
Just amazing, really. I like this stuff. All sorts of styles all poured into a young man’s mind who happens to master the microkorg.
The only microkorg vids worth to watch on the youtube, basically! To be honest, in the beginning i saw the “fooling around on microkorg vids” i found it demotivating to watch them (coz what the fuck?!), since it was around the time when i just got my microkorg a month or so. Yet, to see how much one can pull out just one instrument – especially the microkorg synth – makes a brotha want to go further.
Inspiring!
How is this perticular genre dorian’s doing called anyway? Is there a name for it yet? Is it electronic boogie? Is it a new kind of funk? What’s in a name?
Stuff like this got me overwhelmed and overexcited at the same time, wants me do a jamsession with Dorian Concept right now! Dorian, come over to Belgium, let’s go!!!!
