Currently working on his first feature film – produced by Spike Jonze – it seems like Ray Tintori is one gifted cinema talent to look out for. Stirring quite a buzz over his MGMT videoclips and having been endorsed by Spike Jonze himself – who named Tintori one of his favorite new directors on his blog – it seems like the 26-year-old is ready to solidify his cult status as a youtube video hero.
Let’s have a look at his work, starting with his award-winning (honorable mention at Sundance) shortfilm ‘Death To The Tinman’, which is simply beautiful:
Before that, Tintori made ‘Jettison Your Loved Ones’, a hypnotic piece about ‘A man addicted to faking his own death strives for glory while his abandoned son, a boxer who thinks he’s from the future, falls in love with his half-sister, the world’s greatest sword fighter.’
But last year, Tintori jumped to the attention of the masses with the high-concept videoclips he made for psych-rockers MGMT:
