Peter threw this stick at me, a meme travelling throughout the blogosphere, in which I’m asked to list some personal favourites of my city.

Five years ago I moved to Brussels, and I must say there’s still an enormous amount of spots to discover, I’m afraid that in many aspects I’m still hooked to some stereotypically cool places, I guess it has everything to do with my age and the low-budget lifestyle that comes with it.

But anyway, here I go:

• My favorite ‘grab-a-bite’: the closest sandwichplace in the nearby area. (I love waiting in the station, enjoying my sandwich, glocking girls on the metro or train)

• My favourite shop: for records Lost in Music and Dr.Vinyl. Can’t front on Pêle-Mêle and Alice either, for books and an overall highly enjoyable vibe.

• My favorite restaurant: on average you’ll probably see me in a restaurant twice a year maybe, last time was in Da Kao II – great service, fast, cheap and the food was brilliant too, of course.

• My favorite ‘take my friends when in town’: Alice, especially when there’s another killer expo running. If Bonom has scored again, I love showing that too.

• Other 5 things to mention: Le Tavernier is master, especially when there’s Jazzbreak or Wonderful soirées, unfuckwittable. I’ve been vibin to the rhythm of the city in Bizon, Booze’n'Blues, Le Daringman, and many many other local bars. As for fries Fritkot Bompa is still my favourite in town.
