Kenny Dixon Jr. aka Moodymann – one of the main men behindĀ Detroit’s legendary house/techno scene – must be one of the most mysterious people in music.
Whilst releasing classic after classic, consistently flipping his sound, but always keeping his trademark style he never gave any interviews… (if he did, this was how it went down)
Until recently. It seems like KDJ is opening up, not only did he sit down for an indepth interview with Gilles Peterson, he’s even facing cameras nowadays!
I’m quite disappointed in the tooth-brush-smiling host of the show though.
Kenny: Waddupdoe!
Host: (laughs) Excellent!
At the end we see Kenny trying to plug Dilla’s The Shining, but we then get some sort of announcement…
(thx Jazz!)
[...] Moodymann fans. Check this post on On-Point … video interview and everything. [...]

BLA, right you are, I’ve edited that out, wrote it down a bit too fast, my bad, still, strange interview isn’t it?

Damn, a typical average american show…
it’s the “we’ll be right back after the break” sort of vibe!
And howbout that mister clean for the host…hahaha damn damn.
Wrong context, imho, but nice to see KDJ’s face again!! hahaaa
